Buenos Aires' city bike service, Ecobikes, was facing challenges with users struggling to understand the system, which led to frustration and a poor overall experience. Many users found the process confusing, resulting in low repeat usage. The goal is to improve the Ecobikes system by integrating it more seamlessly into the city’s public transportation network, making it easier to use and more accessible for everyone.

The project involved comprehensive user research, including field studies, interviews, and surveys, to uncover key challenges: confusing and inefficient workflows, unclear trip information, and limited integration and awareness as a public transport service. These insights informed an iterative ideation phase structured around Scrum methodology, with prototyping and continuous user testing guiding the development of user-centered solutions.

The result was a complete redesign of the city’s eco bikes service, including a user-focused app and stations, an optimized logistics plan, and seamless integration with the city’s public transport system for a better mobility experience.
